A brick wall starts with one brick: idea for the future of online press

Recently The Times became a restricted news website. Now, you can’t read anything on the site for free, you have to pay to read. Even if I’m convinced the future of online press is a paying model, there is softer ways to do this. My unique advice for all this websites is simple: “Look at iTunes subscription model”.

In iTunes world, some stuff are free, some are not but in every case, you will have to create an accoun, give your address, your email address and your credit card number. It means that even if a person wants to get a free stuff, iTunes prepare the path for the day this person will want to buy something. An other interesting fact about the iTunes model is that even if you download a free stuff, you will receive a billing email indicating you bought something for nothing. It can seem useless but it’s not. With this bill, you will be accustomed to receive bills, next time you won’t even look at it and the day you’ll buy something, you won’t even notice it. Clever, isn’t it ?

That’s what online press should do. Don’t try to switch free press consumer in a press buyer. Prepare them to become buyers, put them on the path to buy. 

Trombi: webapp to list your colleagues !

Trombi is a web app allowing you to browse through all your colleagues. It’s based on JQuery and JQTouch. The data is stored in json file. There is no pain to install this project cause it’s all static html.
